The String Group performs annually in the State Schools Festival of Instrumental Music Concerts in the Sydney Opera House, at Community Nights and in local community events.
The String Group is run by former Dulwich Hill student Julian Montaserio on Monday afternoons in the Music Room 3:15 – 4pm.
Julian is also available for private tuition.
After having taken lessons for about a year, child should have the skills to join the string group. 6-7 is a good time to start playing violin or cello, although there is no problem with starting a little earlier or later. The school owns a small number of instruments which are available for hire. Alternately, cheap second hand instruments can be hired or purchased from local music stores.
